YouTube may let its premium subscribers zoom in on videos
Youtube is testing a new feature on its mobile app that will allow paid subscribers to zoom in on any video.
The new pinch-to-zoom feature for videos can work in both landscape and portrait views. This is an experimental opt-in feature that premium users must enable to experience the new feature, the report claims.
Paid subscribers can experience the pinch-to-zoom feature by navigating to the “try new features” section of Youtube’s Settings menu on your phone or on the website.
There may be a delay in opting to test this feature and receive the pinch gesture at this time. But the feature is finally working, users can zoom in on any video at up to 8x speed.
There are already many ways to enlarge videos on iOS and Android through various accessibility features and zooming in videos on Windows ecosystem is also quite easy but having native zooming feature is very convenient for users.
Youtube says the new feature will remain in beta until September 1, which will give the company about a month to test the feature and gather feedback before rolling it out to a wider audience.
Last month, Youtube brought its hugely popular Picture-in-Picture feature to iPhone and iPad after testing it among prepaid subscribers. The picture-in-picture feature has been around on Android devices for a while and is extremely popular.
