Women’s T20 Challenge 2022: Harmanpeet Kaur lauds Pooja Vastrakar after Supernova beats Trailblazer
Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas defeated the Trailblazer team 49 times at MCA Stadium in Pune and kicked off their campaign in epic style.

Supernovas captain Harmapreet Kaur spoke about the importance of building a partnership after her team beat the Trailblazer team 49 times in the opening match of the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge at MCA Stadium in Pune . The Supernovas got off to a flying start after Deandra Dottin and Priya Punia made their opening 50 runs with 30 balls.
But after captains Harmanpreet and Harleen Deol came in at 37th, the Supernovas lost their way a bit and finished with 163 in 20 rounds. Kaur highlighted the importance of building more partnerships to keep the opposition under pressure for a long time.
HAPPY AND RELAXING
“The way we wanted to beat in the second half, we did very well. Whatever we plan, we can execute. A suitable game for us. I think we ran short 20 times. Whenever I think of executing myself, we lose. That’s why I had to stay there, looking for those and two. We need to find a partnership. Can’t do that after Harleen and mine,” Harmanpreet said.
Harmanpreet also had praise for Pooja Vastrakar, who won the Man of the Match award, for taking a four-stroke line. After their spell, the Supernova restricted the Trailblazer to 113/9.
“Pooja has done a fantastic job for us – that’s what we expect from her. We just have to go back to the same motion. When you win the game, you are happy and relaxed. Because we won, I don’t think we were very tired,” she added.
Vastrakar also scored a 12-ball 14 with a four, sending the Supernova innings into final chaos. The next Supernova will face Velocity on Tuesday, May 24.
