“I received the ODI limit from MS Dhoni. He is a legend and I was with him for the first time. I can’t even talk in front of him. He talks so well that you wonder if he’s really Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the legend,” Chahal said on Breakfast with Champions on YouTube.
“When I first met him in Zimbabwe, I used to call him Mahi sir. After a while he called me and said, ‘Mahi, Dhoni, Mahendra Singh Dhoni or Bhai… call me. whatever you want, but you can’t, sir,” said Chahal, who emerged as the highest earner in IPL 2022 take 27 scales, with a best of 5/40.
The right-footed spinner won 81 wickets in 46 ODIs with an average of 25.32 and economy of 4.92 while playing alongside the former World Cup-winning captain.
