WhatsApp testing message editing feature

WhatsApp Recently tested and added some new features. Now, it is working on a feature to allow users edit messages even after sending them. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about WhatsApp’s Edit feature; In 2017, WhatsApp was said to be testing a message editing feature, but the feature was never released.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a feature that allows users to edit messages even after the message has been sent. From the screenshot provided, the ‘Edit’ option seems to pop up next to ‘Info’ and ‘Copy’ when you long-press the message. Functions. This feature is currently being tested in WhatsApp for Android version and it will be available on iOS and Desktop communication.
The edit feature can be useful if you accidentally sent a text message and want to correct your mistake. Instead of deleting messages, users will be able to edit messages, saving them the hassle of deleting and re-compose messages. It might turn out to be a lifesaver for some, but the feature is still in beta, so we don’t know if it will be released to the public or when or not.
There is no word on how many times a person can edit a message or whether recipients will be notified if the message is edited. And we also don’t know how long users will be allowed to edit messages. We expect less time than the “Delete for Everyone” feature, which is a last resort. Also, it looks like the recipient won’t be able to see the edit history, but this could be added in the stable release.
