WhatsApp can give group admins more control with this new feature

WhatsApp has been really active in adding and testing new features on its platform. The instant messaging app has been testing a number of new features like improved emoji reactions, the ability to publish chat backups, and more.
Now, it looks like the company is working on another feature that will give group admins more control over who can join groups. The company has introduced a new feature called ‘group member approval’, according to WABetaInfo.
According to the report, group admins can enable or disable group member approval. Once this feature is enabled, people who want to join a specific group via the invite link will need to be approved manually by the admin.
According to the shared screenshot, the toggle to turn the feature on and off will be displayed in the group chat window similar to the disappearing message reminder.
The feature is currently rolling out in beta in both the Android and iOS versions of the app, and users will need to update their apps with the latest beta version. It’s unclear when it will be available in the stable version.
It’s important to note that the company also added sexist emoji with the same update.
