Stay calm and move on.
A sense of uncertainty enveloped London Fashion Week in the days leading up to the show. Queen Elizabeth II had passed away just a week earlier, and with a period of national mourning underway, it is unclear whether the designers will continue with their presentations. In the end, they did – albeit more modestly than originally intended – but this week was not figuratively without casualties. (The entire chart for Monday, the state funeral day, was predictably removed, as was the runway show by the weekend’s biggest label, Burberry.) if there was one. term for minimalist fanfare, this season embodies it. But by Sunday, the calendar was in full bloom, with a series of major events stretching from David Koma in the afternoon to Erdem at dusk – as if there was a collective exhale and ready to fully grasp what’s going on. A fashion week must be provided before the royal funeral.
