Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant suffered multiple injuries on December 30 when his car collided with the divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.
SK Singh, SP Rural, Haridwar said that the accident happened because trousers overslept 1km before Narsan towards Roorkee.
While speaking to ANI news agency, Singh said: “He was going to Roorkee to see his relatives. The accident happened because he fell asleep while traveling 1km in front of Narsan towards Roorkee.”
The 25-year-old was on his way home to Roorkee when he was taken to a local hospital. He suffered head, back and leg injuries but is in stable condition. “Pant had an accident in Manglaur, Haridwar district when his car hit the median at 5:30 am on Friday morning,” said Haridwar SSP Ajai Singh. The cricketer has now been transferred to Max Dehradun Hospital after receiving initial treatment at Roorkee Civil Hospital.
Pant, who was sitting alone in the car, suffered injuries to his back, forehead and leg. Pant was driving his car when he got into an accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. According to images from the scene, the vehicle was seen in a badly burned condition.
The accident was also caught on camera. CCTV footage of the incident is emerging on the internet. The video shows how the car was traveling at high speed before colliding with the divider.
As reported by Aaj Tak, after the accident, Pant jumped out of the car due to breaking the windshield.
Update on his health, Dr Ashish Yagnik from Max Hospital, Dehradun said Pant is being monitored by orthopedic & cosmetic surgeons.
“His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be published once he is examined,” he added.

Goalkeeper pitcher Pant has represented India in 33 Test matches, scoring 2271 runs averaging 43.67 with five tons of Tests bearing his name with a top score of 159 failing to pass. Pant has 119 catches and 14 hits to his name.
In ODIs, he has 865 to his name in 30 games with an average of 34.60 with five half-century and a ton with a hit rate of 106.65. With the gloves, Pant has 26 catches and once has his name on it.
