The Spaniards climbed to the top of ATP Rankings this month when he won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open at Flushing Meadows.
“One of my goals is to finish (five) with number one,” Alcaraz is quoted by the ATP’s website.
“Now that I’ve gotten there, my goal is to stay as many days, weeks and months as possible. We’ll work for that.”
Alcaraz and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who won the 2022 Australian and French Open titles, are the only players to have earned a spot for the ATP Finals in Turin.

The season-ending tournament on the men’s tour was played between the top eight singles and doubles players and Alcaraz had its eye on it.
“I have some tournaments before the ATP Finals and we’ll do our best,” Alcaraz said. “I have some important tournaments and one goal is to try to win the ATP Finals.
“You have to do what you’ve been doing, be comfortable with what you do, enjoy yourself, have fun on the field, play tennis – and that’s what I’ll do. It’s a secret to me. To try and forget everything else and have fun playing tennis. ”

Novak Djokovic, a 21-time Grand Slam champion, heaped praise on Alcaraz, calling the Spaniard a “great addition” to tennis.
“I congratulate Alcaraz on winning the US Open,” Djokovic, who missed the US Open because he was not vaccinated against COVID-19, said on the sidelines of the Laver Cup in London.
“He did it amazingly… He’s 19 years old and already world No. 1. I mean, it’s amazing what he’s achieved so far.
“He’s a great addition to our sport, a great star in the making. Well, he recognized the Grand Slam champion, so we can’t talk about him. as the future, because he is already the present.”
