Update Lamborghini Urus climbs Pikes Peak in record time

Lamborghini is working on a Mid-cycle update for UrusAnd to create excitement, the automaker sent a production-ready prototype to Colorado’s Pikes Peak.

With test driver Pirelli and expert hill climber Simone Faggioli behind the wheel, the camouflaged Urus managed to climb the mountain’s 14,115 feet in a time of 10:32,064. This is significantly faster than the 10:49.9 ratio achieved by the Bentley Bentayga at the 2018 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, making the Urus time a new record for a production SUV.

Although the run did not take place during the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the Urus run did take place on the same route as the race, with the road closed to traffic for the occasion and with official chronometers. of the annual hill climbing competition is there to run things.

The Urus runs a reserve version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 for the updated Urus, which is said to make more than the 641 horsepower that the same engine makes in the current Urus. The tires (285/40R22 front and 325/35R22 rear) are an improvement on the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R offered on the current Urus. The development, which will be available on the updated Urus, was developed by Pirelli in close cooperation with Lamborghini and is designed specifically for high-performance SUV applications.

The only modifications made to the Urus are for safety. These include the installation of roll cages, fire extinguishers and racing seats with six-point harnesses in place of the standard driver’s seat.

Lamborghini is known to be planning two Urus variants to launch in 2022. One expected to be this updated Urus, possibly named Urus Evo. The other is expected to be a new heavyweight variant.
