Tsunami alert issued after 7.3 magnitude earthquake hits Japan’s northern coast

A strong magnitude of 7.3 earthquake off the coast of Fukushima in northern Japan on Wednesday night, causing a tsunami advisory.

The Japan The Bureau of Meteorology said the quake struck at a depth of 60 kilometers under the sea.

This area is a part of northern Japan that was devastated by the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami that caused a nuclear disaster.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

According to the National Tsunami Warning, there is “no tsunami risk for the US West Coast, British Columbia and Alaska.
