Prime Minister Liz Truss is expected to tell the United Nations that Britain will no longer be “strategically dependent on those who seek to weaponize the global economy” as she calls on the free world to “repel the dictatorial invasion”.

Ms. Truss will address the United Nations General Assembly late Wednesday as the organization rallies under the shadow of a large-scale war in Europe.

She will tell representatives about her plans to ensure the UK economy is free from malicious interference, including strengthening energy independence and protecting the security of supply chains.

In his speech, the prime minister is expected to say: “We are reforming our economy to move Britain forward again.

“The free world needs this economic strength and resilience to repel authoritarian aggression and win in this new era of strategic competition.

“We will no longer be strategically dependent on those who seek to weaponize the global economy.”

Ms. Truss will also tell the General Assembly that the G7 and other like-minded partners must act as an “economic NATO”, jointly safeguarding our prosperity and supporting any partner who is oppressed by the regime. belligerent aim.

She will reiterate her commitment to protect the UK and its allies, including increasing defense spending to 3% of GDP by 2030.

“Instead, it’s a story of freedom fighting back… But this isn’t a one time….

“Together with our friends and allies around the world, we will continue to fight for freedom, sovereignty and democracy.

On Tuesday, Ms Truss told Sky News she was ready to fall out of favor with the tax cuts and promised billions of pounds would help consumers pay their rising energy bills.

She insisted the tax cut plan would ultimately benefit the UK economy.
