Travis Barker shook fans on Tuesday when news of his hospitalization. At the time, there were few details about why doctors kept him at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. However, every TMZ, His wife, Kourtney Kardashian, stayed by his side the whole time. By Wednesday, the reason was rampant in the media. Travis is being treated for pancreatitis after a colonoscopy. Now, it seems the damage was caused by the hands of the doctors.
Travis explains why doctors hospitalized him
Travis shared an Instagram post on Saturday detailing what happened this week. He said he had scheduled his colonoscopy for Monday and that he attended with a “great” feeling. For those who don’t know, doctors use an endoscope to examine the inside of organs or hollow cavities, such as the digestive tract.
At dinner, Travis “developed severe pain.” Medical professionals hospitalized him that same day. Apparently, endoscopy led to the discovery of a “very small polyp” and its subsequent removal – and this is where the problems begin.
“During the endoscopy, I was able to remove a very small polyp right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged the pancreatic duct critically. This leads to severe, life-threatening pancreatitis. “
On Tuesday, he sparked concern when he tweeted, “God save me.” His daughter, Alabama Barker, also appealed to the public for support, writing: “Please send your prayers” on Instagram Story. She then posted a photo of her father’s bedside but quickly deleted it.
Despite the life-threatening situation, Travis still lets fans know he’s in recovery mode.
“I am very, very grateful for the intensive treatment, I am much better now.”
It is unclear if Travis remains in the hospital or if he has been discharged. Check out his full post below:
