The finance ministry said on Sunday the total direct tax collection increased by 30% to Rs 8.36 lakh until September 17 of the current financial year due to the advance tax increase.
“Total direct tax collection (before adjustment for refund) for fiscal year 2022-23 stood at Rs 8,36,225 crore compared with Rs 6,42,287 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year i.e. 2021 -22, recording growth 30 ministries said in a statement.
Cumulative pre-tax receipts for April-September stood at Rs 2,95,308 as of September 17, up 17% year-on-year.
Total collection of Rs 8.36 lakh crore including Corporate Income Tax at Rs 4.36 lakh crore and Personal Income Tax (PIT), including Stock Exchange Tax at Rs 3.98 lakh crore.
After adjusting for refunds, net revenue increased 23% to Rs 7,00,669, compared with Rs 5,68,147 for the period 2021-22 respectively.
