Toronto Argonauts, Saskatchewan Roughriders meet again in Touchdown Atlantic


One CFL The event that is believed to have brought millions of economic benefits to Nova Scotia will return to the province in July 2023.

The Atlantic Landingwhich the CLF advertises as “the biggest football celebration on the east coast,” will be held in Halifax next year, at Saint Mary’s College.

CFL said in a statement Tuesday that the university Huskies . Stadium will be expanded to welcome more than 10,000 fans to watch the match between the Gray Cup champions Toronto Argonauts and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

In 2022, Touchdown Atlantic was held at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS, attracting nearly 8,000 suburban visitors to the event. In total, just over 10,886 spectators visited the expanded Raymond Field on Acadia’s campus.

That Touchdown Atlantic event generated more than $12.7 million in economic benefits for parts of Nova Scotia, according to a study commissioned by the federation. Of that, more than $11.8 million is in the Halifax area alone.

The study also found that 95% of visitors said they were likely to attend a similar event again and would most likely return to Halifax and Wolfville.

Next year’s game will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 5pm local time.

“Prior to the main event, there will be fun football festivities, pre-match backdoors, pre-match and more,” the CFL said in the release.

Ticket sales and event schedules will begin in the spring.
