Telangana government special chief secretary Arvind Kumar on Wednesday booked the first tickets for the first ever ABB FIA Formula E world championship race in India to be held in Hyderabad on February 11. Ace Nxt Gen Private Company is the official promoter of Formula E in India. The company is working with Formula E and the Telangana government.
Hyderabad will conduct Round 4 of 17 races for the 9th championship season to be held from January to July 2023.
During event handling, Arvind Kumar said the event will make Hyderabad a global destination for e-mobility. He added that there will be a total of 11 teams with 22 cars racing at the championship, including some of the top racing companies in the world.
“The world’s fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric race car – Gen3” will arrive in Hyderabad on February 11, the organizers said in a press release.
The partnership between Ace Nxt Gen Formula E and the Government of Telangana lasts four years and the championship will take place in India until 2026.
“We are delighted to bring the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to India for the first time and introduce our new Gen3 car to a rapidly growing new audience,” said Alberto Longo, Formula E Co-Founder and Championship Director said in a press release. .
Alberto added: “It’s been a must-see destination for us for some time and so we can’t wait to race in Hyderabad on 11 February.
The last international racing event hosted by India was in 2013 when the country hosted the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
“We are honored to welcome racing enthusiasts from all over the world to attend the Formula E championship in the city,” said KT Ramarao, Minister of IT, City Management and Urban Development Telangana, said.
