Thomas Tuchel provides an update on Andreas Christensen after making a half-time substitution
Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Andreas Christensen was pulled at half-time with an injury during the loss to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues fell to a tough defeat against Mikel Arteta’s side, who have lost their last three games, thanks to a brace from Eddie Nketiah as well as goals from Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka.
And it was Christensen who provided the initial impetus for the Gunners, with a woeful back pass allowing Eddie Nketiah to steal in the first opening of the game.
The defender, who had struggled in the first half, was dropped at half-time, and Tuchel was quick to assume it was an injury rather than his sub-par performance.
Tuchel said Christensen had to take a break from playing due to an injury and stayed for treatment. He went on to blame the pitch for his mistake, covering the whole of him, saying home was the problem in general for Chelsea. “It’s a very, very difficult pitch here. It does not benefit us. ” #CFC

It was this problem that prevented him from coming off the bench in the second half, instead staying in the dressing room for treatment.
Chelsea saw the record fall
To fall to the Gunners, Chelsea set an unexpected pair of records when they lost 4-2 to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
They lost their third consecutive home game for the first time since 1993-94, meaning they have conceded four goals in home games for the first time since the 89-90 season, before the Premier League League begins.

In many ways, the performance and results were somewhat expected by the Blues. The Blues are comfortably third in the Premier League, posing no danger to the fugitive pair of Manchester City and Liverpool above them nor too much danger of being dragged into the fray in football. Europe, with 5 points for teams below them. .
