This autonomous military vehicle could be the future of war

Self-propelled combat vehicles are a futuristic concept that comes to life in our present reality thanks to new innovations like the Wiesel Autonomous Combat Warrior (ACW Wiesel) from Rheinmetall. German defense company developed self-driving car with the sole purpose of focusing on “social safety”. ACW Wiesel is “controlled” by an autopilot that can be fitted to different vehicles such as Boxer, Lynx or tactical HX truck. The self-driving function is activated by an operator that initiates the automatic mode by indicating the Wiesel destination on the tablet. ACW Wiesel can avoid trees and large rocks with its obstacle avoidance sensor and can follow large trucks to a destination when convoy mode is activated. In addition to being self-propelled, the Wiesel can also be operated manually or by remote control. Future upgrades will include behavior and troop detection, as well as terrain maneuvering.
