ROCKFORD (WREX) – Community members raised funds to support me to support the CD Source Records store after a devastating fire.
The CD Source music store burned down overnight in a massive fire; However, its memory still lives on in the hearts of many people.
Skyler Davis, the owner of a culture shock music store, says CD Source motivated him to start his own business.
“When I was growing up, I really liked music and the local stores were always a little more interesting to find different tracks and records, so I went there as a teenager, even as a teenager. years before I opened my own record store.” Davis.
The building is widely known for its shape and the murals seen on its sides. The artist behind the mural Brett Whitacre said he couldn’t believe what had happened.
“I really loved the mural and I know a lot of people who loved it and told me so many wonderful things about it and what it meant to them so it’s really sad to see it go.” Whitacre said.
Loyal customers sympathize with the owner and say the store is one of a kind.
“We don’t have a lot of places that do it in town and he’s one of those people, so we’re standing in another guy’s shop doing it, so it’s a shame he have to deal with the thoughts Brian Buscemi said.
The Go Me Foundation has been established to support the CD source with a target of four thousand dollars and almost two thousand have been raised.
