Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Gujarat after his mother passed away early this morning. She was 99 years old. Prime Minister Modi, who is expected to launch development projects in West Bengal, can participate in events via videoconference.
“Smt Hiraba Modi passed away on December 30, 2022, at 3:39 a.m. (early morning, during treatment at the United Nations Mehta Heart Hospital,” the hospital where she has been hospitalized since Wednesday. said in a statement.
Announcing her death, the Prime Minister posted an emotional tweet early this morning, “A glorious century rests at God’s feet… In Maa, I have always felt that trio, where contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
Heeraben Modi lives with Prime Minister Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi in Raysan village near Gandhinagar.
The Prime Minister regularly visits Raysan and spends time with his mother during most of his Gujarat visits.
