Taylor Swift shocks fans with a stunning concert at the Tribeca Film Festival
Taylor Swift clearly loves nothing more than keeping her fans. At the screening of the short film All Too Well on Saturday, the star had to talk to director Mike Mills about her upcoming film journey.
At this festival, Taylor acts as director, screenwriter, producer and lead actress but still remembers her main talent and ends the day with a live acoustic performance.
At first, everything went according to the original plan, but as her and Michael’s conversation dragged on, Swift asked the audience, “Do you have 10 more minutes?”.
After a pleased nod to her direction, Taylor performed an extended version of All Too Well, which was featured on Red (Taylor’s Edition) last year, to a standing ovation from the audience.
It wasn’t the only surprise the 32-year-old Grammy winner raised her sleeve. After discussing ideas and creative approaches to making short films, Swift invited the film’s stars, Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, onto the stage.
“He’s not a monster; he’s just a narcissistic, selfish kid,” O’Brien said of his character and the film’s main antagonist (his character is rumored is based on Jake Gyllenhaal, Swift’s ex-boyfriend).
Taylor thanked the actor for the “electrical charisma” his character needed and also called Sink a “crazy talent”. “I wanted to feel that their coming together was inevitable and their breakup was inevitable,” she said of the short film’s main couple.
The good news for fans of Swift’s directing skills doesn’t stop there: when asked by Mills if she plans to make a feature film next time, she replied, “Very happy.” On the occasion of her appearance at the film festival, the star also shared a new version over a minute and a half long of the song All Too Well. Definitely recommend listening!
