Arindam Sil, Raima Sen and Paoli Dam spoke at India Today Conclave East 2022, held in Kolkata, on 4 July. They attended the session titled. The Streaming Revolution: How It Breaks Down Language and Geographic Barriers, where Arindam Sil pays tribute to filmmaker Tarun Majumdar, who passed away on 4/7.

Remembering the veteran filmmaker, Arindam Sil said: “I wanted to take a moment to remember the legendary filmmaker Tarun Majumdar, who passed away this morning. Tanu Babu, as I often call him, created released cinema that crossed boundaries and was also commercially successful, which really took Bangla cinema to the next level.Tanu Babu once told me we had to discuss and that would lead to new perspective. I’m glad we’re having a discussion about cinema today (referring to the India Today Conclave stage).”
TARUN MAJUMDAR HAS FLY AWAY ON 4/7
Padma Shri recipient Tarun Majumdar took his last breath on Monday morning (July 4) in Kolkata due to health-related problems. It is known that the veteran Bengali filmmaker is being treated at Kolkata hospital due to health complications in the past few days. He died on Monday morning at the age of 92. He is still alive with his wife, veteran actress Sandhya Roy.
