In 1999, Konami instilled a fear of fog into a generation of players with the release of Silent Hill. The odd title shied away from the more melodramatic horror of its main rival at the time, Resident Evil, in favor of more psychological scares. Protagonist Harry Mason must embark on a terrifying search for his missing daughter, Cheryl, in the quaint town of Silent Hill. What followed was a frenzy that launched a movie franchise (finally) back into the limelight after years of dormancy. Join me, Marcus Stewart, alongside Kyle Hilliard, as we survive Silent Hill’s first adventure and see how its fears pile up after 23 years.
