Every so often, a game development studio comes up with an idea for other good developers to insert it into their game. In Pow Wow Entertainment’s newly announced race, Stuntfest: World Tour, I hope the unique ejection seat function will be so great that it becomes the next craze. In the game’s first trailer, we see drivers dash out of their cars to bounce off pads or activate a jet’s thrusters.
Stuntfest: World Tour is in development for PC with publishing duties handled by THQ Nordic around 2022. We don’t have many details yet, but a press release says that players can assume the identity character of a “puny old lady” or “famous streamer” hoping to win 18-racer knockout stunt shows. Competitions range from destructive derbies to roller coaster racers. When the player presses the launch button and their rider launches hundreds of meters into the air, they can be maneuvered freely and can use gadgets to their advantage. When going down, the next car you see may be yours to drive. Progress in your travel around the world will reward you with vehicle upgrades.
Stuntfest: World Tour has a hot spot, but it’s hard to figure out how these races will play out. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game to see if this unique gimmick (and high level of destruction) makes up for anything special.
