Spain checks airport arrivals from China for COVID: minister

Madrid’s health minister said on Friday passengers arriving at Spanish airports from China would be tested for COVID, following an outbreak of cases in China.
Travelers from China will have to present “proof that they are negative… or a complete vaccination list”, Health Minister Carolina Darias said at a press conference.
Italy on Wednesday made coronavirus testing mandatory for travelers arriving from China.
Coronavirus cases have surged in China, overloading hospitals as the country eases tough controls that have taken a toss on the economy and sparked nationwide protests .
A growing number of countries, including the United States, have imposed restrictions on all travelers arriving from mainland China after Beijing’s decision to end the mandatory quarantine upon arrival, prompting many China happily plans to travel abroad.
But the European Union’s health agency on Thursday said such restrictions were not warranted within the bloc.
Chinese citizens have largely been confined to their home countries since Beijing withdrew the bridge in March 2020
