New Delhi:
Union minister Smriti Irani responded to a Congress leader’s shocking comments about “latkas” and “jhatkas” by forcefully discrediting the party and Rahul Gandhi, whose dispute prospects with Amethi led to the controversy.
Tagging Mr. Gandhi, Ms. Irani replied on Twitter. “I heard one of your provincial leaders rudely announced that you will run against Amethi in 2024. So is it certain that you will run against Amethi? You will not run to another seat. ? Won’t you be afraid? ??PS.S.: You and Mom ji need to find your mystic thugs a new speechwriter,” read a preliminary translation of her Hindi tweet.
सुना है @RahulGandhi जी आपने किसी प प नेत से त त त त क क क

The leader she refers to is UP Parliamentary Leader Ajai Rai. Ms. Irani, who is currently representing Amethi in Lok Sabha, came to the constituency just to show “latkas” and “jhatkas”, Ajai Rai has said with disdain for the dance moves.
Asked if Mr. Gandhi would make an effort to get Amethi back, he initially replied affirmatively.
“It (Amethi) was once the seat of the Gandhi family. Rahul jee has been Lok Sabha MP ever since, Rajiv (Gandhi) jee and Sanjay (Gandhi) jee too, and they served it,” Ajai said. Rai wrote and said.
Then he added, “Most of the factories in Amethi are on the verge of closing. Half of the factories in Jagdishpur industrial area are closing. Smriti Irani just came, just ‘latka-jhatka’ and left. “.
The BJP reacted harshly, saying such a comment was “embarrassing” for a party that has given the country its first female Prime Minister and has been led by a woman for a long time.
“The language used by Congress has always been anti-women. It represents the culture and mindset of Congress. And a party that has given the nation a female prime minister and has been led by a female president for a while. UP BJP spokesman, Anand Dubey, said: “Such statements from its leadership are certainly shameful.
Congress did not react to Mr Rai’s remarks or react to the BJP’s attacks. Mr. Gandhi is currently in Rajasthan, his leader Bharat Jodo Yatra.
