Sri Lanka’s all-rounder Dasun Shanaka wants his side to stay motivated to win the T20I for the third time against Australia in the upcoming five-match ODI series.
Shanaka’s undefeated 54 tackles helped Sri Lanka beat Australia by four goals and avoid an empty tie in the T20I series in Pallekele on Saturday. He stepped in as his side was reeling 98/5 while chasing a goal of 177 runs. The explosive right arm to put pressure back on Australia with Sri Lanka needed 19 shots from Kane Richardson.
“In the beginning, when I went out onto the winding road, I took a few balls to get in,” said Man of the Match, Shanaka.
“I think my strike rate is around 50. I read the wicket really well, and keep my bat on the other side without throwing it away. And in the end, I hope I can finish the game. We hope to pick up this momentum towards the ODI chain.”
Australia and Sri Lanka will next begin a five-match ODI series from June 14 in Pallekele.
