Earlier this week, the Switch received the Anniversary Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s great to finally have this particular version of the game on Nintendo’s hybrid, it seems some players are experiencing performance issues.

Some Skyrim Anniversary Switching users are reporting frame rate issues – including stuttering and frame rate drops. Others are said to crash more often now, with lots of mention of how they played the game’s Survival Mode. Here is one of the videos emerging on the Nintendo Switch subreddit at the moment:

This appears to be affecting players who have the anniversary content installed, with the base game still “smooth” according to some users. Some suggestions are to try a fresh install if these performance issues persist. Issues like this can often be resolved or at least improved through a series of patches, so Bethesda hopes to take note.

The Anniversary Edition of Skyrim comes with the base game, add-ons (Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn), and a bunch of Club Creation content like quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, and spells. There’s also fishing.

If we hear of any other developments, we’ll let you know.
