Sebastian Stan Missed the Met Gala 2022 Theme But Who Cares?
An invitation to the Met Gala comes with great responsibility. There’s a theme to dress up for—this year is “Golded Glamor”—And the attendees had to come up with an outfit for that theme that was cool and quirky… but not so much that it got them posted online. But sometimes an outfit is so perfect, we can forgive missing a theme. That’s where Sebastian Stan lands with his Valentino Pepto-Bismol-on-steroid look. It may not be a perfect fit among many other literal interpretations of this year’s theme, but who cares? Sebastian Stan looks good in pink.

The actor arrived at the Met Gala red carpet in a pink jacket, pink shirt, pink trousers, pink sunglasses, pink sneakers and even pink socks. Here’s the monochromatic look up to 11. (We’ll scream for him a much lighter pink but there’s nothing quite like neon head-to-toe.) Feels like Gilded Glamor? Not necessarily, but Stan understands at least part of the mission: put on a great outfit.
Even at the Met Gala, regularly responsible for a large percentage of the craziest celebrities on the red carpet of the yearMenswear can sometimes be just a splash. At the previous Met Galas, boys tended to take small risks: clothes and shorts one year, and maybe a kilo the next year when they felt particularly adventurous. This year, many men wear black tunics with tails, which can feel flat compared to shape change women’s clothing. Stan, apparently, was tired of baby steps.
Flamingo Balls is the headline here but don’t let that detract from Stan’s awesome outfit fit. One the video was shot outside the hotel, where Stan was getting ready shows how the jacket rotates as he moves and hangs just out of his body. It’s totally flimsy the way we want our clothes to fit in 2022. And maybe the only thing better than an all-pink outfit that fits great at the Met Gala? Share the highlighter with Glenn Close.
