Ryan Reynolds ”The Adam Project” tops Nielsen’s streaming movies chart – The Hollywood Reporter
Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds’ Project Adam climbed to number one on Nielsen’s movie streaming chart for the week of March 21-27 with 1.2 billion minutes of viewing.
The Netflix original series is a sci-fi time travel adventure about a jet pilot (Reynolds) who goes back in time and reunites with his childhood self and his late father.
Out of all the shows to stream, the series came in second for the week of March 21-27 following the premiere of Netflix’s second season. Bridgertonreached 2.5 billion minutes of viewing in the first week of launch.
However, Project Adam well organized after the release of the work at the beginning of the week with 1.33 billion minutes watched to rank 2nd behind Disney Turn red (1.67 billion VND) for the week of March 14 to 20.
The two films swap places for the week of March 21-27. Turn red ranked second with 977 million minutes watched. Disney+’s Encanto followed by 719 million.
Since then, the number of moviegoers has decreased significantly. Netflix Biographical Drama Rescued by Ruby claims 311 million minutes watched. The film is about a state soldier who befriends a shelter dog in hopes of joining the K-9 search and rescue team.
Black Crab, a 2022 Swedish action thriller, entered the top 5 on the movie streaming chart with 310 million minutes. The Netflix series stars Noomi Rapace as a speed skater who is forced to go behind enemy lines and assist a group of soldiers on a dangerous mission. Directed by Adam Berg.
Nielsen’s streaming ratings include TV viewing only and do not include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The rating only measures US audiences, doesn’t measure audiences in other countries, and currently includes only Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video.
Globally, The Adam Project is currently 4th on Netflix’s list of the most streamed English-language films of all time. (Streamers announce their viewership numbers weekly.)
