Ryan Garcia’s dad predicts Javier Fortuna’s knockout early on July 16

Via Adam Baskin: Ryan Garcia’s dad Henry is predicting a four-round early knockout in his son’s scheduled July 16 main 12-round match against Javier Fortuna on DAZN at Crypto Arena in Los Angeles , California.

Henry says that when Ryan’s opponents come to “fight” him, they’ll be eliminated early, and former WBA super featherweight champion Fortuna (36-3, 25 KOs) is a longtime boxer in the mix. Karma.

The 33-year-old Fortuna is always fighting his opponents, and you can expect him to stay true to himself by looking to beat 23-year-old Ryan in his own match on July 16.

Fortuna was an excellent knockout as he fought at 130, but his strength hasn’t increased with him as he has been fighting at 135 since gaining weight in 2016.

Ryan Garcia must win and be in impressive form against Fortuna to qualify for a big money match against ‘regular’ WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in December.

Henry Garcia said Tank was a “big battle” for Ryan that boxing fans would “pay to see”. But first, Ryan must beat Fortuna on July 16 to secure the title against the Tank in December.

“We have another good week, and then a fight week, and then we’ll be in Los Angeles [for Javier Fortuna]”Henry Garcia said to ESNEWS about Ryan’s July 16 header against Fortuna on DAZN.

“We’ve prepared ourselves very well and hopefully their team has done a good job, but we’ll be impressive on that day. As you get older, things improve. They have to,” Henry said of Ryan showing progress as he neared his 24th birthday in August.

“I hope it can last more than four rounds, but I don’t see it happening,” Henry said in anticipation of an easy knockout for 33-year-old Fortuna’s Ryan.

“Fortuna, I trust him a lot. He’s a former champion with Ryan. If you fight him, your luck if it goes through four rounds because he will fight back. When Ryan hits, he is very serious.

“I think it’s a big battle and a fight that people will pay to see and enjoy watching,” Henry said when asked about his thoughts on Ryan Garcia taking on ‘regular’ WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis later this year in December.

“A lot of people, for some reason, are suspicious of Ryan. They don’t understand his pedigree. Its [Tank vs. Ryan] a great fight, and it is meant to happen.

“Hopefully it will happen in December, and I can’t wait. But again, first Fortuna, and then we’ll do [Tank Davis]. After Fortuna, come back to me, and we could talk about the Tank, but for now, we’re all focused on Fortuna,” said Henry Garcia.
