Ryan Garcia & Gervonta Davis commercial insults on social media
Via Sean Jones: Ryan Garcia and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis spoke today on social media about a potential fight in December.
Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) fired up Tank Davis by mentioning to his millions of followers on Twitter that he’ll be fighting in December, which just happens to be the same month as Gervonta.
From there, Tank (27-0.25 KOs) unleashes battle dogs on Ryan, by sarcastically stating that a lot of people have “the ball this week”.
Ryan then scolded Tank for refusing to go to 140 to fight him, saying he needed to have an advantage over his opponent, which he felt was cowardly.
Tank’s last words seem to suggest that he and Ryan will most likely fight in December
. Of course, that remains to be seen, as there’s always the possibility that Mayweather Promotions will take on the Tank with Abner Mares next if he wins the comeback bout this Sunday night.
Gervonta Davis: “It was my show. Again, you don’t get the picture until you’re in it. Unfortunately, it won’t be good for you. Seatbelt.”
I see the picture, I know exactly what’s going on, you’re not talking to someone innocent, I just laugh at me how cowardly you are, You want every advantage, but this time you messed with someone you can’t read believe me. https://t.co/laLCZAIvtW

It’s funny how you only gain weight at 140 to fight Mario but not to me, shows that you are not confident and are looking for any advantage. Nothing will help you remember that. No edge can stop what is destined. https://t.co/8z2KgOrAtd

Chris Mannix told DAZN’s: “There is no significant movement to the fight between Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia, but one stakeholder believes the fight will happen. JABS.
“Talking to Fighthype, Calvin Ford, the coach for Davis said, ‘It’s going to happen. ‘Listen, all those wars are going to happen. It just has to wait until the stars and stars and moons line up to make it happen. ‘”
Sergio Mora said: “The stars are bright and maybe next time Halley’s comet appears, I won’t see that happen. “Tank Davis is following the same game as Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.
“He is running after money. He takes the least risk with the greatest amount of money and he will go all the way to the bank. He’ll do it in his 30s.
“Tank Davis is 28 years old, and he has yet to fight a legitimate champion in his weight class in his prime. I don’t see it happening now.
“Garcia hasn’t even picked a title yet, and you see this kid chasing him, calling him on social media, saying he will. If Tank Davis turns around and says, ‘Look at it, see if you’re a man of his word. I’ll sign my contract, and see if you sign mine. ‘
“Then we’ll see if Garcia cries. Right now, Mayweather’s Promotion Won’t Put Their Golden Goose In [Tank Davis] on the line. . They are making too much money and laughing all the way to the bank.
“Why did they put this man at risk? I do not see it. This is business first and boxing second. “
“For me, it’s disrespectful to Floyd Mayweather to say that Gervonta Davis is following Mayweather’s blueprint because before he was ‘Money’ Mayweather, ‘Pretty Boy’ fought everyone.
“He came and fought Genaro Hernandez when he was in his 20s. He came out and played against Jose Luis Castillo twice. He had an epic battle against Diego Corrales, who at the time was one of the top guys in his weight division.
“So Mayweather fought his best before fighting De La Hoya and becoming a caricature who did all the things you’re talking about. I was disappointed by Gervonta Davis’ lack of initiative.
“You haven’t heard much from Gervonta about fighting Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia has been very vocal about that. He pushed Golden Boy behind the scenes. He pushed his management to make that fight happen.
“We haven’t heard much from Gervonta. I’m not saying he needs to be on the field every day, saying it’s the fight he wants, but maybe a Tweet on social media or something in an interview to make us believe that he is. He really wants this fight.
“Right now, it looks like Ryan Garcia is looking in a different direction before the end of the year, and Tank Davis will be looking in a different direction before the end of the year.
“If this fight doesn’t happen this year, I don’t think it will. Just because, with one more fight at 140, Ryan Garcia will become more and more established in that weight class.
“It will become less and less likely that he has to go down to 135 to fight the Davis Tank. We’ve heard from the Tank side that he won’t go up to 140 to face Ryan Garcia.
“For a while, I was optimistic. Between July and early August, I feel this fight can be fought as neither of these guys have great options before the end of the year. But I think we might be disappointed by both of the opponents they face in 2022,” Mannix said.
“Because it’s a business, a promotion and management, and a lot of people have their hands on the pockets of the warrior,” Mora said. “They are making a lot of money, the network, everyone.
“Everybody is making money. So the warriors are happy to make money. The boxers are happy to win the championship, even if they don’t beat the No. 1. There are a lot of belts out there. You can call yourself a champion right now.
“So technically, he’s a two-weight champion, Tank Davis is, but he hasn’t fought No. 1 in either weight class. He’s already made a lot of money, millions of dollars already. I don’t see him changing it.
“On the other hand, Ryan Garcia, he’s making millions. He’s facing former champions, but he’s also not winning a legitimate world championship.
“So both of these guys are on the right track financially. Why are they up against each other, and one of their careers goes the other way? I do not see it. I will be with you this time,” said Mora.
Mannix said: “Well, you come with me. “You think they shouldn’t go head-to-head, and I think they absolutely should because at some point you have to prove something in the sport of boxing.
“Gervonta has proven that he can draw large crowds in many cities across America. He hasn’t proven himself to be an elite fighter at this stage. You mention his age. In November, he will turn 28.
“So if you look a little ahead in the landscape at 135 and 14o. Devin Haney is locked up for the rest of this year. If one believes Top Rank, he will face Lomachenko in the first half of next year.
“Ryan Garcia is trying to fit in with the top men at 140. At 135, are we going to see The Tank vs Shakur Stevenson?” Mannix said.
“No way,” Mora said of the Tank not fighting Shakur.
“Shall we see him fight a lighter weight?” Mannix said. “We could talk about Tank Davis approaching 30 without a meaningful fight.
“A boxer deserves to be criticized for that. I mean, they have. If you enjoyed watching Tanks take down these opponents, the underdogs 8 vs 1, 10 to 1, 12 to 1 and 15 to 1.
“Okay, fine, but at some point you have to build credibility in the boxing world. Right now, the Tank doesn’t have it,” said Mannix.
“That’s why we’re here to criticize him, and this is the problem. I think Tank should fight guys like Garcia but the flip side to that. I also know that I’m a boxer, money and longevity come first to a boxer,” Mora said.
“Ryan Garcia should avoid teamfights with Tank Davis for now. That’s how you know I’m seeing it both ways. Tanks at 28 should be fighting someone, and Ryan Garcia should make as much money as he can while he can,” Mora said.
“You should make more money in your career,” says Mannix.
“I need to have. A reality show that makes the most money I’ve ever done. It’s just the way for some people. We’re stuck,” Mora said.
