Via Dan Ambrose: Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero predicts a first-round knockout win over Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis for their match on May 28 on Showtime PPV. Rolly (14-0, 12 KOs) says that Tank (26-0, 24 KOs) is “silly” and have a “Big Koala Head“That would lead to him coming in for a hit in the first half.
Tank, 27, will defend his ‘regular’ WBA lightweight title against mandatory WBA 1st place kt Rolly at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Few boxing fans give kt Rolly a chance to get over his frustration at a faster and better skilled tank.
If Rolly wins this match, it will probably have to be a knockout as his chances of beating Gervonta are slim.
It’s in Rolly’s best interest to make sure he turns the contest into a fight right away because he’ll be outboxed if he tries to box with Tank.
Rolly has the punching power to hurt Tank and knock him down if he chooses to come right to him like he did in his final fight with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz. Pitbull doesn’t punch hard enough to make Tank pay for his aggressive style.
“He was definitely taken down. He’s going to hit something because he’s stupid and he’s got a big head,” Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero told Podcast stands last with Brian Custer.
“People who talk a lot about me for some reason end up being judged very badly,” Rolly said. “I don’t come here to choose and choose like everyone else.
“If I had to do it with my ugly-a** punches harder than anyone else’s men boxing, then it’s it. Manny Pacquiao has one of the ugliest styles I’ve ever seen and he’s an eighth-ranked world champion, and he’s one of the legends of the sport,” said Rolly.
The strength that Rolly possesses makes him clumsy and unattractive. What kt Rolly did against him in this matchup was his lack of experience against quality opponents.
kt Rolly’s best opponents:
- Anthony Yigit
- Jackson Marinez
- Avery Sparrow
- Arturs Ahmetovs
“I think I’ll be better at 140,” says Rolly. “I think I’ll be a lot stronger at 140, but there’s still a lot of things at 135 that I want to do.”
It’s hard to believe that Rolly can still hit 135 because he looks like a douche when he’s in the ring. He’s the HUGE for lightweight and he should probably play at 147.
It’s lucky for kt Rolly that they don’t compete as hard as they used to because he will have to move up to the welterweight division if that’s the case.
“I think those games are going to happen at 140,” Rolly said of Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. “There are a lot of promotional issues. I don’t want to go against them.
“I’ll tell you the one who totally wastes time fighting is Devin Haney because he doesn’t fight anyone. He’s not marketable, he’s not selling any wars. Even in his hometown, he couldn’t sell duel. He’s a waste of time.
“I just think he’s jealous because I’m prettier than him. I purposely go against balance because that’s where I find my balance,” said Rolly in reflecting on how his black belt in Judo has helped his boxing career as how.
“I have been practicing Judo for 9 years since I was a kid. I was very talented in it. He’ll jump right into something because he’s stupid. They won’t believe anything I say until I prove it. I will leave these [fists] Rolly said.
