Risk Of Rain is about to be remade
2013’s Rain’s Risk is getting an enhanced remake and is coming out next year to celebrate its 10th birthday. Titled Risk of the Return of the Rain, it highlights the original with improved art, new survivors, etc.
Announced during Nintendo’s time House of Indies: Holiday Event 2 Today, Return of Rain Risk expands upon the first game while applying the lessons and improvements of Rain Risk 2. While Returns does not adopt the 3D art direction of the sequel, it does have New HD pixel art, equalization tweaks, and new tracks from composer Chris Christodoulou. It has also improved multiplayer, with more updates to be shared in the future. Check out the animated announcement trailer below.
In a press release, Hopoo Games co-founder Duncan Drummond said: “As we map out our future as developers, it’s important to us that we look back. his original work. Risk of Rain Returns is a small expression of our appreciation for this incredible community. We hope everyone is as excited about the future as we are.” While still being developed by Hopoo, Risk of Rain Returns will be published by Gearbox.
