Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 1 officially launched 5G services in India at the 6th Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. 5G services are capable of providing high-speed Internet with low latency, thus changing the data landscape. 5G services will provide seamless coverage, high data rates, low latency, and highly reliable communications.

The 5G . Service will increase power efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency. 5G technology will help connect billions of Internet of Things devices, enable higher-quality video services with high-speed mobility, and deliver mission-critical services. 5G will help with real-time monitoring of disasters, precision agriculture and minimizing the role of humans in hazardous industrial activities such as in deep mines, offshore operations, etc.

However, it should be noted that consumers who depend on Jio will not yet have access to 5G.

Earlier, the Ministry of Communications said, “5G deployed by the Prime Minister in selected cities will gradually cover the whole country over the next few years. The cumulative economic impact of 5G on India is expected. will reach $450 billion by 2035.”

Reliance Jio shared a timeline for Deploying 5G services at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) 2022 this year.

The first cities that will have 5G:

Reliance Jio has announced that they will be starting the services in a phased manner. This means that the first phase will include the provision of 5G services to 4 cities namely Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai. These cities will receive 5G service as Diwali will be held from October 22 to 26.

How does the rest of India get Reliance Jio 5G?

At the 2022 Annual General Assembly (AGM) meeting, it was announced that other cities across India are likely to receive only 5G service next year. It was previously announced that Jio 5G services will only be available to other cities in December 2023.

Will all Delhi get Jio5G at the same time?

Example – Delhi Airport T3 is now 5G ready and promises 20 times faster connections for passengers.

The availability of 5G services at Indira Gandhi International Airport has been announced by Delhi International Airports Ltd (DIAL) ahead of the official launch of 5G in India.

DIAL in an official statement said that passengers flying from Delhi Airport Terminal 3 will soon be able to use the 5G network. The authority also claims that the 5G network will provide data speeds 20 times faster than the Wi-Fi system available in the airport.
