In many cases, Nintendo has actively demonstrated how hard they strive to achieve perfection in their games. Just recently, we mark a smart easter egg neatly hidden in the second potion of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild where an additional scene will take place if you take a picture of a specific in-game map. Now it’s Super Mario Odysseywill turn under the spotlight.
As marked by Twitter user Super Mario Broth, you’ll notice that the Toad characters found in the Mushroom Kingdom are all wearing hats. If you talk to one of them, it will say that Peach brought them back from the Moon to her as a souvenir. In a rather clever detail, if you zoom in on the characters Toad before When Peach returns, you’ll notice that they haven’t worn any hats yet, because they haven’t been given them yet!
What a lovely display of Nintendo in every detail! Of course, we could also be completely skeptical and chalk it up to hat models that don’t show up at such a distance, but we have a feeling Nintendo intentionally added this little detail to the game. After all, it makes sense, doesn’t it?
It’s great to be consistently reminded of how much Nintendo has put into its games. Details like this can be easily overlooked, and we assume the majority of players would have missed it entirely regardless. Now you know!
