Quitman woman accused of spitting in coffin charged with felony
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A Quitman woman was arrested after allegedly spitting on a corpse at a Tyler funeral home.
Laurie Lynn Hinds, 51, was charged with abusing a body in prison. She was arrested on June 5 and charged with $2,500 the next day.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KLTV on Tuesday, Hinds entered Tyler’s funeral home on November 29, went straight to a coffin and spat on the corpse.
According to a witness present at the scene, Hinds had a grudge against the family of the person in the coffin.
Tyler police received a warrant for Hinds’ arrest on January 4.
