Queen Elizabeth II won’t attend Friday’s Jubilee event due to mobility issues – National

Queen Elizabeth will no longer attend Thanksgiving on Friday in her seven decades as monarch after experiencing some travel discomfort when she appeared at a military parade on Thursday, Buckingham Palace speak.

The Queen is expected to attend the service at St Paul’s Cathedral on the second day of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Earlier, on Thursday, she appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, waving to thousands of wise men.

“The Queen enjoyed today’s Birthday Parade and Flypast but was feeling a bit upset,” the palace said.

“Taking into account the itinerary and activities required to participate in tomorrow’s National Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty has concluded with great reluctance that she will not attend.”
