Police in Quebec City has reopened its investigation into a 2014 sexual assault allegation involving players from the Quebec Junior Hockey League’s Gatineau Olympiques.
The QMJHL said in a statement Friday that it has been notified of the reopened investigation and will offer “full cooperation” with the Quebec City police department.
Hockey Canada seeks to hire sports safety director focused on addressing abuse, harassment
Le Soleil reported in 2015 that a woman had filed a complaint alleging a sexual assault involving four Olympiques athletes in a hotel room in Quebec City in January 2014.
The initial police investigation ended in March 2015 without charges.
The reopening of the investigation comes as Hockey Canada faces intense scrutiny over its handling of sexual assault allegations in 2018 and 2003 against players of the youth world men’s team.
