Pro golfer Travis Wadkins laughs like ‘The Joker’ after assaulting Dallas officers, police say
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Professional golfer and Dallas native Travis Wadkins is accused of assaulting two police officers during his arrest on August 2 for public intoxication.
It all started after Wadkins allegedly started a violent act against workers at Terrelli’s restaurant on Greenville Avenue on Tuesday night.
According to police records, police were called and when they showed up, Wadkins was drunk and rambling. They caught him without incident and took him to the City Detention Center.
That’s when things escalated, according to police records.
While officers were handling Wadkins, he allegedly said, “That’s right,” then kicked an officer so much that he tore a ligament, dislocating her kneecap. He also allegedly spat on another officer.
According to police records, Wadkins “showed no remorse,” and then began to laugh like “The Joker” mockingly.
After the rough exchange, officers restrained themselves, then carried Wadkins from the detention center and loaded him into a team vehicle. He was then taken to Lew Sterrett Prison.
The officer he kicked had surgery to fix his left knee but is expected to recover.
