Police are hunting for a man suspected of kidnapping a seven-year-old girl and taking her into a forest on Wednesday afternoon.
Greater Manchester Police said they were alerted to the incident in the town of Droylsden at around 4pm and suspect the girl was taken on Warne Road into a wooded area near unused train tracks. to Manchester Road.
The force said the child was safely reunited with his family a short time later, and officers were searching for the man.
There is a large police presence in the area.
Detectives released two images of a man they urgently wanted to talk to about the incident and urged anyone who saw him to call 999.
The first image was taken moments after the kidnapping was reported, while the second was about 30 minutes later, police said.
In the second image, the man appears to be wearing a jacket around his waist on Gainsborough Road.
