Pete Davidson’s Diamond-Set Rolex Leads the Best 2022 Met Gala Watches
Monday Night Met Gala and Its Gilded Glamor Theme leaves much to be explained. Many attendees wore vestments with braids, crowns, and canes. Riz Ahmed sends “a love letter to migrant workers” who helped make the Gilded Age gilded. Sebastian Stan wears pink highlighter from head to toe and don’t worry too much about the subject. Watches, too, come in a wide variety, showcasing all the ways in which attendees interpret glamor. That’s what’s incredibly exciting about watches in 2022: there are more than a few ways to break the red carpet and look elegant when it comes to wristwatches. Here are the best watches from the 2022 Met Gala.

Taylor Hill
Pete Davidson’s Rolex Datejust
The Datejust, one of Rolex’s more entry-level offerings, isn’t the first watch from Crown that comes to mind when you think of glamor. But Davidson’s watch has an ornate secret: the hour markers are made of diamonds.
Mike Coppola
Omega Speedmaster by Ryan Reynolds
This watch fulfills every note Reynolds needs for a versatile Met Gala. The watch is brand new. It comes with an 18-carat gold case and a trendy green dial. And, of course, Speedy has a story that came out of the wazoo: this is a watch that was part of the first moon landing.
Jamie McCarthy
Cartier Tank Française by Oscar Isaac
At this point, the Cartier Tank feels like an official Being Fancy watch. I liked that Isaac broke the Française pattern even more dreary Monday night.
ANGELA WEISS
Corey Gamble’s Patek Philippe Tiffany Nautilus Watch
Naturally, The most hyped watch of 2022 appeared at the Met Gala. What could match the theme more than the extremely exclusive 5711 Nautilus with a Tiffany dial?
Mike Coppola
Jack Harlow’s Rolex Sky-Dweller
Another way to create luxury in 2022: a killer sport watch. Though made from stainless steel rather than gold or platinum, the Sky-Dweller never looks out of place on the red carpet.
Mike Coppola
Cartier Santos by Adrien Brody
The Santos was one of the first wristwatches – a special personal commission for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont who wanted a watch that wouldn’t get stuck in his pocket while flying. This version of the watch is made of solid gold. So yeah, I’d say it fits the Gilded Glamor bill.
Mike Coppola
Michelle Yeoh’s Richard Mille RM 07-01 Bread
Michelle Yeoh wore a watch so brand new that a representative of the watch company told us they don’t even have a picture of it. Consider Yeoh’s red carpet walk in the unofficial lookbook.
Jeff Kravitz
Dwyane Wade’s Vacheron Constantin Patrimony
Wade’s Patrimony could be the ideal wristwatch. The dial of this watch is utterly simple, but the materials used – rose gold case and alligator leather strap – are pure luxury.
Jeff Kravitz
Rolex Day-Date by Gunna
A surefire way to create a Gilded Glamor theme? A solid gold watch, like Gunna’s Day-Date.
Dimitrios Kambouris
Victor Germaud’s H. Moser Venturer Vantablack diamond
Designer Germaud tells us he appreciates the “diamond bezel paired with the Vantablack dial.” It’s hard to argue with that combination. Nothing really lends a diamond’s shine like the blackest black on record.
Jeff Kravitz
Nyjah Huston’s Roger Dubuis Excalibur Cobalt Blue 42MM
Are you also a fan of the Roger Dubuis Excalibur model? None other than Michael Jordan. Huston works well with this choice.
Jeff Kravitz
Longines DolceVita by Regé-Jean Page
Trang goes the classic route with her Longines. Slender, square-shaped watches have long been the standard watch for good wear.
Dimitrios Kambouris
Sarah Jessica Parker’s Cartier Tank Must
SJP wore a relatively new version of the Tank. Cartier brought back its Must line last year as a more affordable option for Tank lovers.
