Via Charles Brun: Oleksandr Usyk and his promoter Alex Krassyuk will be on a scouting mission this Saturday night as WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury defends against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in London.
Three-belt unified champion Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) and Krassyuk will focus on the undefeated Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) in their record, as he’s the favorite and is expected to win last night’s underwhelming Whyte.
It’s important for Usyk to take as many notes as possible for this bout as the chances are high that he will face Fury next and not Anthony Joshua, with whom he will fight this summer. at the end of July.
Earlier today, Fury said his fight against Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) was his last, but no one believed him. This could be a game Fury is playing to see how much fans care about him.
“Definitely yes [Usyk will watch Fury’s title defense against Whyte]”Alex Krassyuk said to Sports sky about Usyk taking notes on Fury’s performance against Dillian Whyte.
“Egis Klimas [Usyk’s manager] and myself plan to attend the event and watch it from ringside. At Usyk’s training camp, he would watch and study the fight on TV,” Krassyuk said.
I see no point in Usyk and Krassyuk having trouble watching Fury’s fight with Dillian. At 33, Fury no longer has the ability to move his massive 6’6″ frame around the ring like he did in his younger years, so he’ll knock Whyte down like he did against Deontay Wilder and Otto Wallin .
Eddie Hearn told talkSPORT when asked if it was in Whyte’s interest not to help advance the fight with Fury.
“He [Whyte] under a lot of pressure to sign because if he doesn’t sign by the deadline, he will lose his chance to fight for a world title.
“A lot of things were promised if the contract was signed. Frank Warren was right. There are many things that he [Whyte] That claim wasn’t actually in the contract, but was promised to him.
“So I think it’s ultimately a trade-off. ‘If you don’t give me what you promised, I won’t do communication.’ He didn’t want to go to the press conference. He was in Portugal during his training camp.
“He was quite happy to be there. I think everyone is wrong to be honest with you. Hearn talks about Fury and Whyte.
