Netflix’s ‘Cobra Kai’ ends with season 6 – The Hollywood Reporter
Netflix has picked up the sixth season of Grand cobra – that will also be the last of it.
The streamer made the announcement on Friday with a teaser video of what they called the “biggest…worst season” of the series. A release date has not been set; video (see below) just says “coming soon”.
Creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg called the decision to end the series “mixed bittersweet” but a decision that allowed them to deliver Grand cobra to end the way they want.
“Re-acquainting the world with karate boy space is our humble honor,” the trio said in a statement. “Being Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same divine dojo that was once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub and all the great original cast members. It also allowed us to play sensei, expanding the original storyline and spawning a new generation of underdogs. We never took this opportunity for granted.
“Our first day goal with Grand cobra always ends it on our terms, leaving the Valley at the time and place we always imagined. So we can announce that achievement with great pride and gratitude. The upcoming season six will mark the end of Grand cobra.”
More to come.
