Brentt Leakes Says He’s Catching Trends For Fun Things: ‘It’s Just For TikTok’
In a now-expired Instagram Story upload retweeted by theJasmineBRANDSBrentt clarified that he is “not gay” and speculation began with his participation in a trend on TikTok.
Specifically, Brentt intentionally slipped while trying to throw a piece of trash in the basket and a message on the screen read: “If I slide, I’m gay.” Notably, he ended the video with a sassy move to get it all done.
Know your Meme provides further explanation of this trend, noting that “users who throw something into the basket or target and intentionally miss under the caption ‘If I miss, I’m gay,’ they often do something that could be said to be gay.”
As soon as Brentt caught on, people immediately started buzzing about whether or not he’d actually come out as gay. However, Brentt has certainly made it clear that this is not the case.
“I’m not gay. I love women. It’s just for TikTok.”

NeNe addresses speculation about Breakfast Club: ‘Brentt is not gay’
In addition to Brentt speaking directly on the subject, NeNe Leakes also relayed the message during her recent appearance on Breakfast Club.
When the matter came to light, NeNe confirmed that “Brentt is not gay.” Instead, he’s just working on “some popular TikTok trends.”
“Brentt is not gay. He’s done some popular trends on TikTok and people are calling us to ask if he’s gay.”
Charlamagne then asked for clarification that Brentt was actually not gay, to which NeNe replied, “I don’t know.” However, NeNe will make sure to let Brentt know that she’s always supporting him.
“He called me and said, ‘Mom, people are asking me if I’m gay because I made this TikTok video. And I said, ‘It’s okay if you’re gay. It’s fine with me.’”
However, Brentt repeated, “I’m not gay, Mom.”
NeNe later shared that her son’s happiness was “the most important thing” and that she didn’t feel the need to ask him about his gender, as she would support him anyway.
“I don’t have to ask ‘Are you gay?’ That doesn’t make any sense. What I want to tell people is, ‘Your happiness is the most important thing. So whatever makes you happy.
She added, “If my son said he was gay today, I would 100% agree with that.”
Thanks to Brentt and NeNe Leakes, and we continue to wish them well.
