NCERT stalls National Talent Search Examination scheme till further orders


With the aim of improving the National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) scheme, the National Council for Research in Education and Training (NCERT) has suspended it until more orders are made, according to an order official.

NCERT said: “The National Talent Search Scheme is a central sector plan fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. NCERT is the implementing agency of the NTS Scheme. The scheme has been approved. approved until March 31, 2021”.

It is funded by the ministry of education and organized by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

The scholarship exam is conducted annually in two phases – phase 1 (state level) and phase 2 (national level).

“The further rollout of the plan in its current form has not yet been approved and is stalled until the next order is available,” it said.

According to senior council officials, the ministry is reviewing the plan with the aim of revising it.

A senior NCERT official said: “Ongoing discussions to improve the NTSE include increasing the number of scholarships to benefit more students as well as increasing the number of scholarships.

However, he did not comment on the same time.

The exam is held in Hindi, English and 11 other Indian languages ​​and the scholarship is awarded to candidates pursuing courses in natural and social sciences up to PhD level and courses majors such as medicine and engineering up to the high school level.

Students in grades 11 and 12 receive a monthly stipend of 1,250, while UG and PG students receive a monthly stipend of 2,000.

A total of 2,000 scholarships are awarded across the country with 15% for Scheduled Actors, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 27% for Other Backward Classes and 4% for Study Groups birth defects.
