Michigan County Sheriff’s Office Limits Direct Responses After Expensing Full Gas Budget

Way! While soaring gas prices make people strain their money, one police department doesn’t even have that option! According to @newschannel_3, the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook Wednesday to announce changes to the way it responds to calls from the community!

“The Isabella County Sheriff’s Office is also feeling the pain of the pump,” the sheriff wrote. “We ran out of budget funds for fuel for a few more months before resetting the budget.”

According to the report, the sheriff’s office’s fiscal year begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. This means the department has nearly four months left before their money returns to the bank. To deal with their empty wallets, the department is limiting their in-person response and using phone support.

“I have instructed delegates to attempt to manage any accepted phone calls,” the sheriff wrote. “These will be calls that are not in progress, calls that are not life threatening, calls that do not require collection of evidence or documents.”
