Meghan Markle, Price Harry rejected Queen Elizabeth II’s invitation twice

Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away on September 8 at the age of 96. Her passing opened the pandora box of nuances the royal family has witnessed in throughout the Queen’s final years in relation to Prince Harry and his wife Meghan. Markle steps down as senior royal in 2020.

In one such revelation, Katie Nicholl, author of a new book titled, “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth“The Legacy and Future of the Crown”, has claimed that both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have turned down the Queen’s invitation to visit her at Balmoral Castle, twice!

The couple seems to have been invited by Queen Elizabeth II at her Balmoral castle in Scotland in 2019. However, the then royal couple declined the invitation in an attempt to maintain their distance.

This comes before the couple announced their departure from the royal family in 2020.

Decided to “raise an eyebrow,” says Katie Nicholl.

“I was told it wouldn’t fit their story at the time. The narrative is very much ‘this is us against them.’ It’s a feeling of separation. And maybe going back and playing happy families wouldn’t fit that story,” Hindustan Times quoted Katie Nicholl as saying.

The royal author revealed that the couple were once again invited to meet the Queen again but they also turned down that offer.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl’s new book The New Royals reveals that King Charles III has nicknamed Meghan ‘Tungsten’, a name that reflects her toughness and resilience. “Tungsten,” is a steel-gray third transition metal that has the highest melting point of all the metallic elements.

According to Nicholl, Markle displayed an amazing level of resilience during her and Prince Harry’s 2018 appearances alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Royal Foundation Forum.

“According to an aide, it was time William and Katewho were heavily pregnant, realized they needed to up their game,” Nicholl wrote. The Cambridges [now the Prince and Princess of Wales] have signaled their intention to be more than just ‘decorative royalty’ and, together with Harry, have made a huge splash in their mental health campaign Heads Together. “

In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would step back as senior members of the royal family. The couple currently resides in Los Angeles, California, USA.
