Man survives bullet wound to the head after shooting at Empire Central
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A security guard from Fort Worth is recovering after he was shot in the head April 17 in Empire Central’s 1300 block.
Initial reports that the victim was shot at a local strip club were incorrect, according to a spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department.
Police said the victim, who was out of work at the time of the incident, met a woman (a licensed security guard at XTC Cabaret located at 8550 N. Stemmons Freeway) the night he was shot. According to police, the woman told the man that she was assaulted by several men when she threw them out of the club.
According to police, the couple met after being accused of assault and left the club together. Police said the victim pulled over next to the suspect vehicle shortly after, and was shot.
Dallas Fire Rescue took him to the hospital, where he was later released.
Police say they are still searching for the shooter.
