Man charged with murder of missing Basildon mum after body found in Wat Tyler Country Park | UK News
A man has been charged with the murder of a young mother after discovering a body in a country park.
Madison Wright, of Basildon in Essex, was last seen alive on July 22 and was wearing a pink shirt, black pants and flip flops.
The 30-year-old’s black Vauxhall Astra was found 4 days later on July 26 at Brackendale Avenue in Basildon.
Essex police arrested a man on Friday, and on Sunday officers charged Gary Bennett with murder.
The 36-year-old from Pitsea will appear at Southend Magistrates Court on Monday.
The force says a body was found at Wat Tyler National Park in Basildon on Saturday.
Nearby parks and recycling centers remain closed while employees continue to answer their questions.
The body has yet to be officially identified but Ms Wright’s family has been notified of the development and is being assisted by specialist officers, police said.
Police would like to speak to anyone with information but have not yet arrived, especially anyone who saw Ms. Wright or her vehicle between 8:30 a.m. on July 22 and July 26.
The force is also calling for CCTV, dash cams or other footage related to the incident.
