As reported by Statista, Messi has also set a new record at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, for the most appearances at the FIFA World Cup. Messi has appeared in 26 matches in all FIFA Men’s World Cups since 1930.

Before that, the Argentine champion was the youngest player to score and assist in the same FIFA match.
